The Truckee is fishing well all over

Indian Summer here in the greater Truckee-Tahoe Reno area on the Truckee River. I think it's been warm all over the West. This next week though things will change and we will once again get back into more normal fall, early winter weather. Rivers been fishing well all over. Anywhere you go you should pick up some fish. Mostly we've been nymphing, and streamer fishing.

The fish are taking PowerBait and spinners. NDOW planted trout in both reservoirs during October. Trout action has been slow at Adams-McGill, but the fish anglers are catching fall in the 14- to 16-inch class. At Dacey, trout and bass fishing have both picked up. Trout & Striper action on the Colorado River near Laughlin has been good

Trout anglers have found good action while fishing with night crawlers or cut anchovies. The anchovies have fooled striped bass as well. While most stripers are in the one to three-pound range, there are reports of anglers catching fish up to eight-pounds. With high winds bringing in a cold front the fish should begin feeding a little heavier.
