Fishing is good here on the Truckee River in Reno-Tahoe-Truckee, that is, if you get on it early. Mornings to mid-mornings are best, as it is hot again in the afternoons. The Truckee River has been firing again this week in the Reno-Truckee-Tahoe area. Both sides California, and Nevada the fishing in on. Fish are in all their fishy spots, which this time of year is the faster oxygenated water. The ranch is still fishing well, the temps tend to be a few degrees cooler down there due to a few springs that empty into this section. Most of the same patterns have been working on the ranch that have been working on the California side of the river.

Mackinaw are taking 2-oz jigs tipped with minnow in 100 to 160 feet of water. Kokanee bite tapered but should start coming back.Mike Nielsen (530) 721-0593  

The ranch is still fishing very good, dry/dropper rigs have probably been the most productive. The flows have dropped a little bit the last couple days so that should make the dry action even better. Most of the same flies that are working on the Cali side will also work on the ranch.

The water conditions on the Truckee in California continue to be really good. Most of the water in the system is being released from Lake Tahoe right now and there is a good flow from Tahoe City down to the State line.
