Nevada Fish Reports

The boat ramp is officially open and the dock is in the water

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The boat ramp is officially open and the dock is in the water. Clarity at the south end of the lake is poor due to snowmelt running in at the inlet. Action for shoreline anglers has slowed since March. Most anglers are having luck fishing near the dam, catching rainbow trout in the 15″-18” range. Anglers should fish the shallows, where the water is warmer.

Riveria Marina Fishing Report

by RUSTY
Exciting news! Our stripers are running, and anchovies or bait are proving effective. Local angler Brian Grey recently landed a couple of these using anchovies while fishing from shore in the community park area. Near the Davis Dam, anglers have reported catching fish of similar size from the shoreline. Additionally, the largemouth bass are beginning to move off their nests and are guarding the fry

Flows are about to go way up with the spring snowmelt

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Flows are about to go way up with the spring snowmelt. Fishing for bass above Mexican Dam should pick up when we reach the end of runoff. Trout fishing should be good where trout are stocked following the peak runoff.

Flows are up and will continue to increase as we finally start to see our runoff peak

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Flows are up and will continue to increase as we finally start to see our runoff peak over the next month. Stocking around Broken Dam will pickup when flows start to come down later this spring. High flows will make wading dangerous, be sure to use caution if you must get out.

Bilk has had a few tough years but should improve when trout stocking begins again

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Bilk has had a few tough years but should improve when trout stocking begins again. There are still a few bass in the lake, but the trout should be the main catch during the coolest months.

The walleye and wiper fishing was excellent at the lake last year

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The walleye and wiper fishing was excellent at the lake last year and should fish well this year given the precipitation we received this winter. Warmer temperatures will help with the consistency, until then, expect a mix of good and fair days on the water. Night crawlers under a bobber or carp cut bait from shore seemed to be the best bet.

There are areas opening up north and south

by WILD HORSE STATE RECREATION AREA
We receive a lot of questions regarding open water for shore fishing. There are areas opening up north and south of us that you can fish from the shore. These areas are on tribal property and their fees apply.

Still getting good reports from the ranch

by KENS SPORTING GOODS STAFF
Still getting good reports from the ranch, lots of nice fish in the 14 to 20 inch range there. most of the same patterns that are working on the Rosachi will also work on the Sceirine. Give is a call if you’d like to reserve some time on the ranch.

Pyramid Lake Report

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
We wish we had some good news for you. Unfortunately, with regards to the fishing at Pyramid this week, we don’t. The fishing out here remains poor, to put it nicely. If you are very tuned in to this lake, and have some of the subtle nuances dialed in, then yes, you will find a few fish. But that should say something. This is normally

The Truckee has seen a steady increase in flows again this week

by THE TROUT FITTER STAFF
The Truckee has seen a steady increase in flows again this week, and this trend will likely continue for the next couple of months. The California Watermaster has begun to release around 200 CFS out of Lake Tahoe, and with the amount remaining on the mountains in the Tahoe Basin, the section along Highway 89 should be flowing well for most of the spring and

Riviera Marina Fishing Report

by RUSTY
With most of our fish in spawn, the fishing has been really slow. But it's time to go after the striper, as that bite should be doing well. Up on Lake Mohave, watch for boils of shad; the striper should be right there, with anchovies producing some great catches. Even a couple of jigs in various colors should work well. The coves above the power

Baily is fishing excellent and has been stocked well this spring

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Baily is fishing excellent and has been stocked well this spring.  The most consistent way of catching fish at Baily is salmon eggs under the bobber. Fly fisherman slowly retrieving peacock bodied nymphs will find fish just about any time.  Stocking will continue until the heat really sets in this summer. With summer the heat, the sunfish bite should really fire up.

The local media and community members joined us today as we stocked the Sparks Marina with 2,500 tiger trout from the Mason Valley Fish Hatchery! The goal is to provide more fishing opportunity for the community to enjoy! NDOW tries to stock community ponds every two weeks when conditions permit, which is typically from March through June and then again in September through October. Spring, but mostly Winter still on the Truckee River

by MATT KOLES
Spring, but mostly Winter still on the Truckee River. The weathers looking good for next week though. I know clouds and rain and snow are great for fishing, but at this point, I need some sunshine. We are going into the big fish time on the Truckee RIver. Spring is great for that. Flows are going to ramp up which they are starting to do. Releases

Angler Report: Topaz Lake

by FISH REPORTS STAFF
Sam checked in with us after his trip out to Topaz Lake: Went to Topaz on April 2, and we trolled up 5 rainbows on both the west and east shoreline. Lots of life noted again today. My quest is to solve the question of what the life is. F5 rapalas in black and gold and hot steel were producing today but noted a pretty small

Fly fishing at Pyramid Lake has improved in the last few days

by RENO FLY SHOP
Fly fishing at Pyramid Lake has improved in the last few days and we are looking forward to the storm coming in this weekend. While fishing has in fact been slow through the month of March, things are looking up as an increasing number of fish are showing up in the shallows. The consistency of fish in close to the shoreline will only help the
