by PYRAMID FLY CO.
Repeated storm systems have these large cutthroat on the chew in a major way!  With the lake levels rising and the low pressure systems barreling in one after another, it has paired up for some feisty fish and a huge section of shoreline available for anglers with about 30 miles of beaches on the west shore of Pyramid Lake.  Head on out to your favorite

More rain and snow for the Truckee River

by MATT KOLES
More rain and snow for the Truckee River, laughable at this point. We need/needed it though. Life saving actually. Everything is filling up, all over the state. I thought the Truckee River was going to get pretty big last week. Rain turned to snow, and flows didn’t bump up that much. Flows: The flows are very good all up and down the river right now. About perfect. Everything is

The lake held near 88 percent of capacity

by CHAD BURTON AND CHRIS BORDEN
The lake held near 88 percent of capacity. Please stay in the main channel after launching or you will run aground. Fishing has been fair overall with trout as the best bet. The lake was stocked last Friday, and anglers did well on a variety of baits. Dough baits, minijigs, and night crawlers performed well, and lures also scored good numbers of fish. Striper fishing

23 lb. LCT

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
Pyramid has really kicked into gear over the last few weeks, and a big part of this is due to the continued low-pressure systems in the area. Last week Tristan Best of Truckee netted an impressive 23.8 pound fish, caught under an indicator. The bite for both techniques has been pretty even, with the strip bite and indicator bite both having their days and even

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
The flows on the Truckee River have stabilized over the last week, and as of today we are seeing flows around Hirschdale sitting at +/- 600 CFS. With these flows the river is considered fishable, but there will be some challenges present if heading out for the day. The first challenge when fishing here on the California side and into Verdi will be parking. As

Jaysn had just picked up his limit of trout and started throwing his favorite lure. This beast of a fish weighing in at 27.96 a nice 28-pound surprise and was 41 inches in length. The bite has really switched on this week

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
The bite has really switched on this week, and for those waiting patiently to fish out here, now’s the time! It seems that all methods of presenting a fly are working out here, depending on the where and the when. The bobber will fish best when fishing off of sandy shelfs 6 feet or greater, or if fishing around rocky outcroppings where snags are present.

Truckee River Fishing Report

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
The Truckee River saw a great flush of water with last week’s big rain event peaking at over 3,000 CFS and now settling down to around 500 at the Boca confluence. For reference, this time last year the river was holding at around 300, so it just goes to show what a few good storms can do! These big flushes of water are not only

It’s been a bit slow so I had to go out and catch a couple of fish. I got a Largemouth Bass in one hand and a Redear in the other. These are best found in our back waters like the Laughlin Bay area. I like using a z-mans ned rig in the peanut butter and jelly color (pp&j). The striper bite is doing ok in the Community Park area and we just got a stocking at Rotary Park of Rainbow Trout. With anglers doing well using power bait and night crawlers. I did get a report
