Water levels are coming up nicely this fall. Expect ice to be forming and this small reservoir may soon be ice covered. If there is open water, anglers can expect to catch 8-to-10-inch Rainbow Trout and there is the potential to catch similar sized Tiger Trout. Expect bass fishing to be poor.

40 percent of Comins Lake is covered with a thin sheet of ice

With recent snowstorms and colder daytime temperatures, approximately 40% of Comins Lake is covered with a thin sheet of ice. Anglers can still launch a boat from the boat launch however, the narrows of Comins Lake is iced up and anglers should not try to break ice to access the south lake. The boat dock will remain in Comins Lake until ice begins to build

Very little change here as flows on the South Fork of the Humboldt are very low and fishing is difficult except in the pools. Flows have increased a bit. Flows are better below the reservoir and fishing is fair there. As of November 4, the South Fork of the Humboldt was flowing at approximately 3.16 cfs above the reservoir and 8.36 cfs below the reservoir.

As of November 4, the Bruneau River was flowing at a low 7.7 cfs

The surface water temperature was 48 degrees on Monday, before the air temperatures cooled dramatically and is more than likely closer to 45 now. The dock is still in the water and the boat ramp is usable. Algae and other aquatic vegetation is clearing and improving water clarity though there is still some suspended algae.
