Trout angling is still productive on days following stocking

by ARIZONA GAME & FISH DEPARTMENT
Not much has changed at Willow Beach this month. Trout angling is still productive on days following stocking every week. Anglers are targeting these trout using PowerBait, PowerEggs and inline spinners. Striped Bass fisherman are doing well on swimbaits and plugs. Special Regulations: The limit is 5 trout, there is no longer a limit for striped bass over 20 inches. For species not listed, or bodies of

Lake Mohave Fishing Report

by ARIZONA GAME & FISH DEPARTMENT
Striped Bass, Largemouth Bass and Smallmouth Bass have all been caught at Mohave recently. Trolling using swimbaits with a shad imitation is an effective way of catching Striped Bass, while Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass can be found in coves in the early mornings. Trolling on white buck-tailed jigs and using swimbaits with baitfish imitations have been the most effective lures recently, but anchovies work well too. Special Regulations: The

Lake Mead Fishing Report

by ARIZONA GAME & FISH DEPARTMENT
Anglers have been catching lots of Striped Bass and Smallmouth Bass in the 2- to 4-pound range. The water is still very warm, so try going out very early in the day or after sundown for the most success. If fishing midday, try looking for shaded spots or go to deep water. Anglers have had a lot of success fishing grass beds in the early mornings with

Lake Tahoe Fishing Report

by MOUNTAIN HARDWARE & SPORTS
As conditions transition into fall, fish at Lake Tahoe will begin moving closer to shore in preparation for the winter season. Shore anglers can target trout from rocky points that provide quick access to deeper water, making these areas a good place to focus efforts. Cloudy days can also produce better fishing conditions as the season progresses. Anyone planning to fish Lake Tahoe should check

The fishing season at Pyramid Lake opens October 1

by MOUNTAIN HARDWARE & SPORTS
The fishing season at Pyramid Lake opens October 1, with fishing typically improving as conditions begin shifting toward winter. Cloudy and stormy days can provide some of the better opportunities, so anglers should keep an eye on changing weather patterns when planning a trip. Early in the season, most fish are still holding in deeper water, making shore fishing more challenging. Shore fishing generally begins

Truckee River flows have dropped a good bit through Tahoe city and the Town of Truckee

by MOUNTAIN HARDWARE & SPORTS
Current Water Conditions Truckee River flows have dropped a good bit through Tahoe city and the Town of Truckee. Flows are measuring around 76 CFS out of Tahoe City, 65 CFS through the town of Truckee, 73 CFS near Glenshire, and 502 CFS at Farad. Most of the water coming into the Truckee River is coming out of Boca now. This is typical for this time

The flows along Glenshire have dropped and are sitting at around 100 CFS

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
The flows along Glenshire have dropped and are sitting at around 100 CFS. This is typical for this time of year, and while still fishable, may be less than ideal for most methods other than dry fly fishing. That said, we have been seeing some noses lately, with the main bugs being midges and BWOs, and we also expect to see some October caddis around

The lake opens on the 1st, you can expect to find fish deep

by THE FLY SHOP
Fishing conditions:  Report: The lake opens on the 1st, you can expect to find fish deep. Like 30' down. They will be eating Tui Chubs. Most successful anglers are in powered watercraft, but you can fish from a pontoon. Jigging Balanced Leeches can work. We'll give a report after the opener. Hot Flies: • Pyramid Beach Leech - #8 • Zack's Cut Bait Midge • Rich's Moo-Midge - #8 • Mahalo Nymphs •

Glenshire is right at 100 CFS

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
The flows out of Lake Tahoe have dropped from last week, holding around 75 CFS. Glenshire is right at 100 CFS, and it’s not until the Hirschdale exit where the 300 CFS out of Boca Reservoir has things really pick up and we see the Truckee in its typical form. Because of this, the Farad gauge is touting a steady 500 CFS, the same it’s

The kokanee bite is going strong on the south end of the lake

by DOUG BUSEY
The kokanee bite is going strong on the south end of the lake. Many anglers have been getting limits of 12-inchers. The Mackinaw bite has also been doing well near the Camp Richardson area and around Taylor Creek, mainly because the fish are chasing the schools of kokanee. I would throw a rubber or spider jig right into the middle of the schools. For more

Topaz Lake Fishing Report

by DOUG BUSEY
The lake level has continued to drop, which makes the fishing just a little better in my book. There are a few spots that can be difficult to fish when the water is high. Most trollers have been doing well with silver/black or perch F3 or F5 Rapalas while toplining. The old standby flashers have also been doing well with a threaded half a nightcrawler.

Fall is here, at least on the Truckee River

by MATT KOLES
Fall is here, at least on the Truckee River. Colder overnight lows, and mild afternoons. Fishing has been very good for the most part. Smaller mayfly nymphs, caddis, baby crayfish, and smaller golden stones, are all good nymphing. You will not see any dry fly action unless you get a good cloudy, rainy type day. Fall is the time for blue wings though. You may light

Riviera Marina Fishing Report

by RUSTY
We have some great river news! Our local angler, Dawn Leclerc, was fishing from shore at Rotary Park and landed these stripers using anchovies. These are the type of fish you can expect to find in our area. Below Davis Dam, the limit is 10 stripers, with no size limit. Up on Lake Mohave, there is no limit on the number of stripers an angler can catch

The Truckee saw a drop in flows out of Lake Tahoe this week, going from 300 CFS down to 100

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
The Truckee saw a drop in flows out of Lake Tahoe this week, going from 300 CFS down to 100. They have offset this with increased flows out of Boca, and the Farad gauge is still holding right at 500 CFS. This is typical flow regime for this time of year as the rafting along Highway 89 winds to a close. Because of this, the

Angel Lake Fishing Report

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
As of September 8, Angel Lake Campground and Day Use Area are closed for the season. There is no access to the lake at this time. The closure will allow crews to begin construction on the long-awaited new Angel Lake Dam.  Questions about the closure can be directed to the USFS Mountain City-Ruby Mountains-Jarbidge Ranger District at 775-738-5171.

Riviera Marina Fishing Report

by RUSTY
Our local angler, Steve Beasley, was out fishing up on Lake Mohave and landed a great striper while trolling near the power lines with a striper jig similar to a bucktail jig. The fish weighed in at 12.92 pounds and measured 35 inches in length. Nice catch, especially during a crowded weekend! The river is still producing some nice catches, mostly in the 2- to 4-pound

The Truckee fished well this week

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
The Truckee fished well this week. Water temps have dropped substantially, and we can now fish all day without water temps hitting 68 degrees in most sections of river. However, we would still recommend avoiding the lower river (I.E. east of Sparks) for now. With the cooler water temps, we have seen fish move around a bit this week and we were catching fish in

With the cooler temperatures, the fishing should start picking up

by DOUG BUSEY
With the cooler temperatures, the fishing should start picking up. It has been a little slow over the last few weeks. For the first-time angler fishing the lake, I would recommend hiring a guide or stopping in at Tahoe Fly Fishing Outfitters or Big 5 Sporting Goods. Anglers using a dodger and a live minnow, or a rubber minnow with Pro-Cure gel, can fish the

The lake level has gone down a little more, but there is still plenty of water to play in and on

by DOUG BUSEY
The lake level has gone down a little more, but there is still plenty of water to play in and on. I fished from shore this week with my better half, Renee—which, as always, she schools me! We fished with PowerBait on the south end for four hours and did not get one bite. I spoke to a couple of trollers this week, and they
