Fishing has improved at Pyramid Lake, there are more fish in the shallow waters

by TRUCKEE RIVER OUTFITTERS
Fishing has definitely improved as there are more fish in shallow water this week than in previous weeks. Sunny calm days continue to be tough for most areas unless you are fishing in a boat/float tube in the nets area, or the deeper beaches on the SW side of the lake between Sand Hole and Popcorn. They have produced some fish in the afternoons when

The fishing and the flows are about as good as you can get on the Truckee

by TRUCKEE RIVER OUTFITTERS
The river has fished so well over the past couple of months that we have gotten spoiled. That could all change in the next week or two. We are getting enough snow in the lower elevations to create some run-off. When we get some warm weather the flows should pick up a bit. It is not going to be as bad as in a normal

Hinkson continues to fish great.

by TRUCKEE RIVER OUTFITTERS
Anglers are catching fish on a variety of methods from both shore and from float tubes. Retrieving just about anything with an intermediate line will work but without a doubt the best fishing is under an indicator with Pyramid sized midges and nymphs.

After the recent snow storm, fishing on the Truckee went from poor, to good, to great!

by MATT KOLES
After being shut out most of last week due to wind and snow, finally, I got back on the water with folks for the last three days. It went from poor, good, to great. I stayed on the East side of the Truckee River. The streamer bite was bad, nymphing good, and the dry dropper rig reined supreme, at least yesterday. Fish have definitely spread

Lake Tahoe Fish Report

by NOR CAL FISH REPORTS
Mackinaw bite has been yo-yoing between tough and bountiful. Some days it’s tough to scratch fish and some days there are a good number of three to six pound fish. A full moon and numerous earthquakes may have made conditions odd. Guide Gene St. Denis brought in a pair of 12 pound plus fish over the weekend. Toplining action has been similar. Gene St. Denis.

A Great Day of Jonesing and fishing on the Truckee River

by MATT KOLES
Aged salami, beef jerky, IPA, 60 degree weather, and trout. That's living. Fred who was laid up from a skiing accident, jonesing, reading my blog for the last year, finally healed and came out to float the Truckee River with me on the East side yesterday. We did some damage. Fred put a little oil on the rusty casting arm and gave her hell. Good

The Nevada side of the Truckee are as good as it can get, the fish are full of piss & vinigar

by MATT KOLES
The last few days East of Reno on the Truckee River have been as good as I've seen it yet. These fish are full of piss and vinegar. Leave the toys at home. Bring a mans rod, a 6wt, and keep your tip up. Yesterday we put about 15 in the boat, good for the Truckee, and lost quite a few fish too. Fish are

Fishing is good in Nevada & California on the Truckee

by MATT KOLES
We actually had two sunny nice days in row, a first it seems, and fishing is good in both states, on the Truckee River in California, and Nevada. Skwalas and b-dubs are out and about, making for some interesting dry fly fishing. Nymphing with the said patterns will produce fish. The streamer game is descent, if you stick at it, you'll get a few whacks.

Lake Tahoe Fish Report

by NOR CAL FISH REPORTS
Mackinaw fishing is productive between storms. Limits weighing between three to eight pounds come from depths of 150 to 250 feet. Dollar Point and the Tahoe City Shelf are consistent fish-producing spots. Guide Gene St. Denis has been using dodgers and minnows.  Gene St. Denis. Blue Ribbon Fishing (530) 544-6552

Pyramid Lake, NV Fish Report

The fishing appears to be improving at Pyramid Lake (Nevada)

by TRUCKEE RIVER OUTFITTERS
The hook, line and sinker tournament last week produced some really nice fish. There were at least 3 fish caught over 10 pounds (and hopefully released). The fishing seemed to improve overall the past week. The water is still too deep to wade out to the normal spots at most of the major beaches. This is probably going to be the case for the rest

We look for the weather to affect a slowing for fishing on the Truckee

by TRUCKEE RIVER OUTFITTERS
The river has fished so well over the past couple of months that we have gotten spoiled. That could all change in the next week. We have gotten enough snow in the lower elevations to create some run-off. The next few days are supposed to be warm and the flows should start their spring Yo-Yo effect for a while. It is not going to be

The Truckee River is in perfect shape, despite the storms this week

by MATT KOLES
Last night it snowed and had no impact on river flows. Saturday's storm will be a one-day type of thing, it should snow, not rain, and won't impact river flows much, if at all. The winds though have been a bummer. My hands and face feel like an old saddle. The fishing is good. In Nevada, I'd rate it, four IPAs out of five. Pliny
