Pressure is light but fishing has been good for those getting out. Anglers spending a half day get limits plus. Trout are averaging 14 inches. Trolling is the best way to go. Use Needlefish or Rapalas (black and gold, rainbow or perch) along the edges. Shoreline fishing is very slow because the wind is limiting casting. (775) 266-3550

Pyramid Lake, NV Fish Report

Shore fishing is improving. A 17 pounder was landed by a shoreline flycaster. Pelican has been the most productive spot but that also is where most of the pressure is centered. The spawn channel will be opened in the middle of March. (775) 476-0400

Mackinaw fishing is very good. Fish are being found deep (200 to 300 feet deep) because of clear skies. Shrimp are congregating at underwater springs and so are the macks. Good spots have been CalNeva Point, Dollar Point and Sugar Pine Point. Limits of four to eight pounds are routine. Small fish have been scarce. Toplining has been so-so.
