The health of the wild trout in the Truckee River is about as good as we’ve ever seen thanks mostly to a series of good water years. This doesn’t mean that fishing on the Truckee will be easy, because it never is. The conditions have changed quickly here on the Truckee as the releases out of the reservoirs taper off and we see flows settle into their average range. In fact, the flows out of Boca Reservoir dropped this week, bringing the Farad gauge down from 1,200 CFS, to around 800.
