Western Nevada Fish Reports

The fishing has been good for small rainbows, with an occasional 2 to 4 lber caught. Anglers have been using flashers and a threaded half a night crawler. Or jointed Rapalas in a perch or blk/slvr pattern.

Fishing may have slowed overall on the river, but we are still having some good days as of late. With the recent snow/rain the worm and baetis combo has been putting in work. There are also plenty of March Browns around as well, and nymphing some size 12-14 brown mayfly patterns such as pheasant tails, Picky eaters or Hogan’s clingers have been working well too.

Mackinaw fishing has been a little slow.  Best areas have been Dollar Point or the Tahoe shelf using a dodger and a live minnow. Some anglers have been trolling F9 Rapalas in a black and silver pattern. Note: use a little smelly jelly lightly on the back end of your lure. Not to much or you take away the action of the lure.
