Dan Miller was fishing on Pyramid Lake on June 19th and landed this Lahontan Cutthroat Trout. It weighed in a 21.6 pounds and was 34.5” long and 21” girth.

Another heat wave for the Truckee area. Hot all over the West. Mid 90’s here in the Hirsch on the Truckee River. Get out somewhat early and get your fishing in. Get your flies down and dirty in that fast pocket water. Now is really a fun time to fish when you can break down the river and find the slots. All the mid-river slots have trouts

The mackinaw fishing has been good to fair for angler fishing the north shore shelves of Carnelian Point. The rock pile off Logan Shoals has been productive. The boat inspection stations are open in Meyers and At the highway 28 and highway 50 intersection at Spooner summit. Check the website to get hours of operation.

The weather has been such a roller coaster ride this spring. Today near freezing after last 4 days of heavy wind. One week we have snow and wind then next record highs 80-86 then followed by more wind then cold.   I’m ready for some stability in weather.   Good news is we’re finding biters each day.

The Truckee River is flowing at 550-600 CFS through the downtown gauge. Temperatures look perfect as we start the day around 53 degrees and the river is topping out at 61 degrees.
