Bass fishing has been good. Trout fishing has been fair. Small spinners and worms off the bottom have been good for the bass and an occasional trout.

Chimney Reservoir Fishing Update

Fishing for walleye, crappie, channel catfish and wipers will typically pick up when water temperatures get into the mid 50s. Water temperature was 41 on 3/3/2021.  Fishing should get better as we near the end of April.

Fishing has been good for smallmouth and white bass using rooster tails, rubber worms, and bright colored jigs. Look for smallmouth and walleye around rocky structure and deeper drop offs. Fly Fisherman are picking up an occasional walleye or bass on chartreuse woolly buggers or clouser minnows fishing rocky points. Carp fishing has been good and can be found in most of the shallow bays.

21.6 Lb. Cutthroat

Dan Miller was fishing on Pyramid Lake on June 19th and landed this Lahontan Cutthroat Trout. It weighed in a 21.6 pounds and was 34.5” long and 21” girth.

The mackinaw fishing has been good to fair for angler fishing the north shore shelves of Carnelian Point. The rock pile off Logan Shoals has been productive.
