Looks like snow melt on the Truckee River is pretty close to being done for the year. Expect water clarity to improve in the coming weeks. The Silver Springs boat ramp is officially open for the season! Please be aware that the reservoir is at approximately 130,000 acre feet full, which equates to a 60% capacity. Fish are moving into the shallows more so trolling in 30 to 50 feet is producing best. Fast troll of 2mph is recommended. Bug recommendations are black balanced leeches, chartreuse and white beetles, or white/black/chartreuse wooly worms.

Dave Millingar caught/released this 19#7oz LCT yesterday while fly fishing at Pelican along with several others. Took him 20 minutes to reel it in. Dave caught/released 22 fish this morning, this 13#4oz fish was the largest. Dave reported it was slow yesterday, fish were hitting today as this cold front moves in. Nice fishing Dave!

The Truckee River has great, spring flows right now for anglers. Hatches you might see include midges, blue-winged olives, winter stones, and some skwallas. Stream fishing is also picking up!
