Nevada Fish Reports

Ring of Ice

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Wild Horse is ice free south of the island off of the state park boat ramp. There is a ring of water around the edge and is fishable from shore. The wind is pushing the ice around which means that some shorelines will not be fishable as the ice is pushed towards it, while others are. The good news is that the winds are starting

Not Worth It

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Extremely low water levels with warm water make this reservoir a poor choice for fishing. Not worth the trip.

Pleny of Open Water

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The road should be dry but rutted. Plenty of open water for fishing. Fishing is fair for trout. Anglers should use the same presentations and techniques as South Fork.

Road still Closed

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The road to Angel Lake is closed. There will be no further reports until late next spring or early summer depending upon snow conditions.

Picking Up

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Fishing has started to pick up at South Fork as the water temperatures climb into the 40’s. Anglers have had some success along Jet Ski Beach and at the cove next to the dam on the northeast side of the lake using PowerBait. Fish along the northeast side of the lake appear to be trying to spawn in the shallows. PowerBait seems to be working

Mostly Open Water

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The lake is mostly open water for fishing, though with below freezing temperatures this past week, there has been skim ice forming along the shorelines in the morning. But fishing has been fair to good for 10 to 13 inch fish using the usual worms and PowerBait. Small Cave Lake specials, wooly buggers and the usual nymphs such as prince, hares ears and pheasant tail

Ice Free

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The lake is now ice free and the water level is coming up currently at about 60% of capacity. Fish have been seen dimpling the surface, probably taking midges or mayfly emergers. Fishing should be good on the warmer afternoons.

Plenty of Open Water

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Illipah is opening up with plenty of open water to fish. No report on how fishing is. Generally good this time of year using worms, PowerBait, spinners, and wooly buggers.
