The water temps on the Truckee continue to trend downwards and the entire river from the confluence of Boca Reservoir all the way through Reno is fishing excellent. While the temps east of Sparks are currently good, the clarity is an issue for now, due to some of the lower tributaries dumping in some dirty water. Flows on the Truckee River have held steady around 430 cfs through the Reno gauge. Recent storms have caused bumps in the flow, but overall the river has been in great shape. Temperatures on the river have also remained the same, starting the day below 60 degrees and ending the day near 68. Conditions are looking great for the end of summer and fall fishing

What more can we say, the river is still fishing well and it’s no surprise. There has been little-to-no change in the flows this week and the upper river along town remains low at 125 CFS near Glenshire Bridge. However, with big releases coming out of Boca and cold water flowing in from the creeks downstream, the gauge at Farad continues to read 600 CFS.

Water Conditions On the Truckee River, the flows are low through town. The best flows are below the Boca confluence towards stateline. Fish are currently spread throughout the pools and the riffles on the Truckee River. Flows are 94 CFS in the town of Truckee, 121 CFS in Glenshire and 611 CFS at the stateline.
