The lake has been lights out over the last couple of weeks

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
The lake has been lights out over the last couple of weeks, and this is the best time of year to have those epic number days you always here stories of. The fish are finally, starting to cruise in the shallows, which is an indicator of them entering spawn mode. In terms of fishing, this is relatively inconsequential, as the fish that you see in

We’ve been seeing some great days on the river this week

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
We’ve been seeing some great days on the river this week as the flows went on a roller coaster ride once again this week, starting below 600 CFS on Easter weekend and sitting at 1,700 CFS as of today. The water started out fairly muddy earlier in the week but has since cleared up to 2-3 feet of visibility now that flows have stabilized. This quick

Comins Lake is still 90 plus percent covered with ice

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Comins Lake is still 90+% covered with ice. Ice conditions should be considered unsafe and anglers are advised not to access the lake. Sections of the ice are beginning to pull away from the western shoreline, however, at this time, there is no fishable water open.  With the increases in daily max temperatures as well as warmer overnight lows, Comins Lake could open up relatively

Illipah Reservoir is still 95 percent covered with ice

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE

The road into Illipah Reservoir is open and navigable, however some sections are

The lake level has gone down  about 5 feet since my last trip. The Douglas County ramp is open, but the docks are out of the water about 3 ft. For smaller boats it may be difficult to tie up. I fished with Tom Blotter from 7:30 to about 1pm last Sunday. We trolled with Rapalas and various spoons. The south end was a little

We are experiencing a great striper season, and local angler Bryn Werkmeister landed a remarkable catch at Community Park. He was fishing from shore using a swim bait in a trout pattern, one of his favorite lures. This fish weighed in at 18.66 pounds and measured 37 inches in length, which is a big, fat fish that's a little heavy for its length. We've received word
