Western Nevada Fish Reports

Not much change here as many streams are still mostly covered in ice with open water where flows are faster. Shorelines are snow and ice covered and very slippery. Pyramid remained near 86 percent of capacity, and fishing has been good for trout and striper. Trout anglers fooled fish while using dough baits, minijigs, nightcrawlers, and lures with the marina being the hot spot. A few huge striper fell for magnum swim baits, but most of the action has been on cut baits. Yellowbar, Serrano, and the marina all produced for bait anglers. Bass

The water level has come up and is still rising slowly. Be on the loom out for floating debris. The County ramp is open for launching. There is a no wake zone in all of the ramp and cove area. Very cold at night to somewhat warm in the afternoons. Dry and cold. Very stagnant weather pattern. Not a lot of change from last week though flows have dropped in streams north of I80 and stayed the same south of I80. Expect springtime driving conditions with frozen roads in the morning but muddy on the way out once it warms up. Access is iffy to many of these waters.
