The striper bite is starting near the Davis Dam and so far they have been found in the deeper waters. Anchovies have been working for this area. I have also heard of some catfish action near the fishing dock in the Katherines landing bay. Our snow birds from Colorado Dan and Karen Wischnack landed these 3 stripers at 5.60 pounds 27 and 1/2 inches 6.42 ponds

Today, I took the kids on our weekly journey to maximize our social distancing from the rest of the World.   We had a good time checking out the great outdoors in Northern Nevada.   We did spend some time fishing and caught one Brown Trout and two Rainbows.  All the fish were caught on the mini sinking Rapala.

A cooling trend is forecast the next few days, however, once the free flowing tributaries start their melt it seems unlikely they will freeze back up. So…. The good news is its just up and down the river here below the Davis dam. the Colorado river is giving us some great out door time our deserts are alive this time of year with foliage and wildlife. The striper bite here along the Colorado River below the Davis Dam is dong very well. Our local and visiting anglers are having some mixed stories of their success. I am not sure if its our water release from the Davis Dam or our mixed weather. The striper bite is hit or miss. when its on you have a great chance as the stripers are hungry
