Nevada Fish Reports

Current Water Conditions Flows measuring 250 CFS out of Tahoe City, 257 CFS through the town of Truckee, 304 CFS through the Glenshire area, and 700 CFS near Farad. Water temperatures are starting to increase with the warmer weather pattern the area is seeing. Because of that, early mornings and evenings are the best chances to get the most bites. Marilyn’s Pond has been fishing very well but has also been busy. Mid-week is definitely a better option if you’re looking for a little peace and quiet. Light leaders and tackle has been the key to success at the pond. Stocking will slow down a little as we really heat up but should still fish well through the summer heat.

Stocking continues through the summer at Baily and trout fishing should remain good until temps no longer allow trout to be stocked. The Rainbow trout in Baily are caught primarily on salmon eggs and power bait on the bottom or under a bobber. Small wet flies and lures are also very effective on the pond. Fishing has been good at Kinney. Tiger trout up to 16 inches have been caught recently. Pink floating power worms and night crawlers off the bottom or under a bobber has been working well. Some fish have been on the surface early and late and can be targeted with dry flies.

Fishing from an island and using anchovies as bait, he put together an impressive stringer of fish. Fishing has improved slightly during the early morning hours. Once the jet skiers and recreational boaters arrive, the bite tends to slow down. Remember the rules of boating: reduce your speed to a no-wake zone when within 100 to 200 feet of a swimming area, beach, or moored vessel. If your wake causes damage, you can be held liable. Pyramid Lake is currently full, and the boat launch remains open. The fishing season will end here June 30th. Most anglers are finding the best success from float tubes, kayaks, or boats while fishing depths between 40 and 50 feet. Productive offerings have included Pyramid-style jigs, Sierra Spoons, midges, balanced leeches, and various hookup baits.
